School Countryside Learning Day At Farleigh Wallop Estate

In September Farleigh Wallop Estate held a countryside learning day for 160 children from across Hampshire.

Children from Tadley, Cliddesden and Oliver’s Battery schools spent the day on the estate, learning about (almost all) aspects of the countryside and estate life. The 160 pupils got involved with hands-on activities alongside our estate team; learning about everything from farm machinery and livestock to beekeeping and forestry.

“"We are so grateful to the Farleigh Wallop Estate and Lord Lymington for hosting our educational visit. Working in partnership with the estate, we hope to inform and inspire the children to further their knowledge and understanding of the countryside while enjoying a fully 'hands-on' experience."”

Lord and Lady Lymington have always felt passionately that local children should be given these opportunities to learn about and protect the surrounding countryside.  They hope to share Farleigh Wallop estate’s years of local knowledge and wisdom, with many more school groups in the coming years. Teaching future generations a little bit about the nature and environment that makes Hampshire so special.

If your school is interested in attending a future day at the estate please contact annabel@countrysidelearning.org.
